Faith in Christ is different than any other kind of faith. It is not
found in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, the word means
believing into Christ, suggesting movement. Faith in Christ means
moving close to Him in trustful love. It is an embrace, and He extends
His arms to us today.
This kind of loving embrace between man and his maker comes only through
Christ. Nobody in the Old Testament days could think of such a thing.
God was Spirit - another kind of Being, too awesome to be approached
except with fear and trembling.
``The hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers
will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father
is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those
who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.``
Yet one inspired book in the old Testament Scriptured touches the
heart of a new experience: the Song of Songs, a lyric of love that
gathers up all its words of supreme love in one phrase I am my be-
loved's and my beloved is mine. This was an attitude towards God
that nobody understood, until Christ came. Are you not glad that
you can live and walk in a full understanding of how much He love
you!
